KRA Vehicle Import Duty Calculator - July 2025

ANNOUNCEMENT: KRA has released a new CRSP list that will be used to calculate vehicle import duty as of July 1st 2025. This calculator has been updated to reflect the new CRSP.

The previous calculator (based on the CRSP list from 2020) is still available by clicking here. It can be used to compare the vehicle duty changes between the current and previous CRSP lists.

It was initially reported that KRA would do away with the CRSP approach and move to using the invoice value of the vehicle to calculate duty. However this is not the case and from July 2025 this new CRSP list will be in effect.

About This Calculator

This calculator is very accurate and takes into account the vehicle engine CC and fuel type when calculating the duty. It does not use blanket values in the excise duty part of the calculation like other calculators on the web.

This calculator is always kept up to date. It was last reviewed on 31.05.25 and is based on the latest KRA CRSP list (July 2025) and KRA Valuation Template (2025).

KRA Vehicle Import Duty Calculation explained

The vehicle import duty is based on the Current Retail Selling Price (CRSP) of the vehicle (set by KRA) and is dependent on the age of the vehicle, fuel type and engine size. For further information on how the calculation is done, please contact us.
